As a Parcel Handler Level II, you will assist with the management of the Parcel Department to ensure parcel shipments are accurate and delivered on time via FedEx, UPS, and other carriers as needed.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Review daily outstanding orders to make sure adequate labor and supplies are in place for fulfillment
- Communicate with Parcel Lead and/or Operations Support Manager to discuss labor and department needs
- Release drop ship, sample, and breakcase orders through the WMS system to be picked and processed based upon delivery date
- Manage and monitor the flow of dropped orders to ensure they are being picked and brought to the parcel area for processing
- Manage, create, and pick breakcase inventory in the warehouse
- Research, respond, and process returns for both internal and external requests
- Train assigned personnel in packing, labeling, and shipping
- Provide leadership, and supervise productivity of employees as needed
- Applies lean thinking and tools to identify and eliminate waste in all areas of the position
YOU MUST HAVE
- Must be currently employed by Dot Foods or Dot Transportation, Inc.
- Ability to pass standard physical abilities test to meet physical demands of the job
- High School Diploma, General Equivalency Degree, or relevant work experience
- Effective math and organization skills
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
YOU MAY ALSO HAVE
- Prior shipping and/or warehouse experience
- Work experience in a demanding job with pending deadlines
- Previous experience operating a forklift
- Familiarity with FedEx & UPS computer systems, Microsoft Office programs, AS400, and WMS systems
ROLE SPECIFICS
- Schedule: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday 6:30AM-7:00PM
- Working Environment: Ability to work in all temperature conditions, from below -5 to above 100 degrees
- Job Demands: Regular physical activity, including lifting up to 80 pounds repetitively and extensive standing and walking on concrete
