How We Hire

At Dot Foods and Dot Transportation, our hiring procedures might be a little different (and often more time consuming) than what you’re used to. But it’s only because we take a thoughtful and thorough approach to every hire. Our unique approach gives applicants a more comprehensive opportunity to understand the job and the environment of which they’ll be a part.

Warehouse Workers

Those looking to work in the Dot Foods warehouse can apply online at any time. You do not need a resume or any sort of special certifications to apply. Once their application is received, an applicant will go through the following steps before they’re hired on:

Truck Drivers

Prospective truck drivers can apply to Dot Transportation on DriveForDTI.com day or night and no experience is necessary. No CDL? No problem! We can help you there too. Once an application is received, the applicant will go through the following steps before they’re hired on:

  • A recruiter will contact you within 24-48 hours of submitting your application to ensure everything is correct
  • If your application is approved by our hiring managers, you will be scheduled for an interview
  • After the interview, you will begin a medical screening consisting of a DOT physical, drug screening, and physical abilities test
  • After medical is complete, we’ll discuss a date to begin training and orientation
  • Once you pick a start date, you will receive a welcome letter explaining everything you will need for orientation and training

  • If your application is approved by our hiring managers, you will be scheduled for an interview
  • After the interview, you will begin a medical screening consisting of a DOT physical, drug screening, and physical abilities test
  • After medical is complete, you will need to test for and obtain a Class A CDL permit which tests on combination, air brakes, and core knowledge
  • Once you have your permit in hand, we will help you find and enroll in a local trucking school program
  • When you’ve successfully completed the program and earned your Class A CDL, you will be ready to begin orientation and training

For most other positions, applicants can apply in a few simple steps via our online application form. Individual departments may conduct their hiring processes slightly different from one another, but reps will always do their best to keep you updated in an effort to make the onboarding process as smooth as possible.
