Reports To: Sr. Director of Operations or Sr. Transportation Manger
Salary Grade: $75,156 - $112,735 annually, plus bonus opportunity
As a Transportation Manager, you will provide service to internal and external customers, as well as manage and contain costs while effectively managing the driver and dispatching staff.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Lead daily transportation operations including routing, scheduling, and dispatch of company drivers and third-party carriers.
- Develop and optimize transportation processes to minimize costs while maintaining high service levels.
- Collaborate with warehouse, procurement, and customer service teams to ensure timely deliveries and order accuracy.
- Ensure safety compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies.
- Develop and manage transportation budgets, performance metrics, and improvement plans.
- Analyze logistics data to identify areas for opportunity and implement solutions.
- Manage and coach a team of drivers and dispatch staff to promote growth and development.
- Champion continuous improvement by applying lean principles to reduce waste and increase efficiency.
YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent Dot/DTI experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated computer skills including Microsoft office programs
- Prior people management experience
YOU MAY ALSO HAVE
- Prior transportation experience
- Ability to function in a multi-task environment
ROLE SPECIFICS
- Travel – Occasional overnight travel to other company facilities or outside facilities for training. Must have ability to travel independently as needed, without restriction by all modes of transportation, including car, plane, or train.
- Schedule – Occasional after-hours events required. Must be available for after-hours calls.
