Reports To: Assistant Transportation Manager
Salary Grade: $52,104 - $78,156 annually, plus bonus opportunity
Responsible for routing customer and supplier orders, optimize routes, and manage expense. Execute strategies that provide excellent service to our customers, be good partners with our suppliers, maximize the usage of a driver’s hours of service, etc. while always staying focused on cost reduction.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Route and plan the sequence of customer deliveries and supplier pickups.
- Work with dispatch teams on any needed adjustments to the plan.
- Continuous focus on improving Key Performance Indicators like service level, outbound cube and on-time.
- Analyze routing sessions to identify inefficiencies and make system adjustments to avoid future occurrences.
- Daily tasks that help improve service levels and manage cost.
- Work cross-departmentally on initiatives focused on continuous improvement.
- Apply lean thinking and tools to identify and eliminate waste in all areas of the position
YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent Dot Foods experience
- Mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- First-rate planning and organizational skills
- Team-based perspective
- Flexibility for evening hours
- Strong business acumen
YOU MAY ALSO HAVE
- Knowledge of Federal and State regulations on drivers and equipment
- Motivation to develop and promote
- Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word experience
ROLE SPECIFICS
- Full-time: Monday – Friday, with 2 or 3 workdays extending into the evening
- Ability to independently travel as needed, without restriction, by all modes of transportation, including car, plane or train for customer/vendor calls, training or meetings (a couple times per year on average)
