Reports To: Transportation Manager – Safety
Wage Range: $16.19 - $23.06 per hour, plus bonus opportunity
As a Safety Specialist, you will provide support to the Safety Department to ensure Dot Transportation is a safe working environment for it’s employees and to ensure Dot Transportation is compliant with all D.O.T. Safety and Training directives and regulations.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Monitor / update vehicle accident claims that have potential for subrogation or liability
- Provides accident research and coordinates with third-party insurance companies.
- Coordinates with DC leadership and third-party insurance providers.
- Provides clerical and communication assistance to Dot Transportation Management
- Uses Samsara video retrievals as appropriate for accident investigation
- Assists with scheduling and preparing accident reviews and communicates accident rulings.
- Assists in other areas of the Safety Department
- Applies lean thinking and tools to identify and eliminate waste in all areas of the position
You Must Have
- High school diploma or GED
- Effective and professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well with both internal and external customers.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
You May Also Have
- Experience working in both team and independent settings.
- Administrative/Clerical skills preferred
- Skills to be successful in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines.
Role Specifics
- Schedule: Full Time – Monday through Friday: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
