Responsible for using yard management system to assist in performing product and temperature integrity checks. Will be trained to safely and efficiently move trailers on the lot or at the dock door.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Safely and efficiently moves trailers between pads, doors and buildings on a timely basis.
- Slides tandem effectively to meet state bridge laws.
- Accurately weighs loaded trailers.
- Inspects spotter tractors, performs basic maintenance and fueling, and reports equipment problems.
- Checks refrigerator unit operations to ensure adequate product and temperature integrity.
- Performs trailer washing, as needed.
- Perform trailer inspections to ensure trailers are safe and clean.
- Clean and remove garbage from the Dock.
- Timely response to radio communication is a must.
- Applies lean thinking and tools to identify and eliminate waste in all areas of the position.
- Other jobs as assigned by Supervisor.
YOU MUST HAVE:
- High school diploma or General Equivalency Degree.
- Ability to pass physical abilities test to meet standards of job and MTO requirements
- Sufficient hearing and vision necessary to operate powered equipment safely.
- Safe driving record.
YOU MAY ALSO HAVE:
- Experience in a fast-paced, safety-sensitive environment.
ROLE SPECIFICS:
- Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00AM to 4:30PM. (Subject to change based on business needs)
- Work Environment: Temperature extremes (summer and winter conditions) working in both indoor and outdoor weather conditions.
