Department: Dot Transportation - Garage
Reports To: Director of Transportation
Salary Grade: $77,577 - $116,365 annually, plus bonus opportunity
Lead and supervise all garage staff and all day-to-day activities associated with the maintenance, repair, and fueling of all trailer/reefer equipment in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Oversee completion of work while implementing and prioritizing workload of garage staff.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Ensure all preventive maintenance policies and procedures on all tractors, trailers and reefer equipment is performed properly and in a cost-efficient manner.
- Driver and warehouse communication on all issues related to garage responsibilities
- Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards
- Maintain awareness and compliance with all current local, state, and federal regulations such as all regulations governing the handling and disposal of hazardous waste
- Leads continuous improvement efforts while applying lean thinking and tools to eliminate waste.
YOU MUST HAVE
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 3 years supervisory or management experience
- Demonstrated ability to safely and productively operate shop equipment
- Sufficient vision and hearing necessary to operate powered equipment safely
- Ability to lift over 25 pounds as needed
YOU MAY ALSO HAVE
- College or technical degree
- Effective communication skills
ROLE SPECIFICS
- Travel– Occasional overnight travel to other company facilities or outside facilities for training. Must have ability to travel independently as needed, without restriction by all modes of transportation, including car, plane, or train.
- Schedule – Ability to work flexible hours (weekend, night shift and on-call) based upon facility needs.
- Work Environment – Indoor and/or outdoor garage work in all weather conditions.
